Water Production Technician
Level 2 Training
Level 2 Training
The Level 2 Water Production Technician programme is a comprehensive three-day competency programme that serves as the foundation-level water production training course. Participants should have 3-6 months' work experience in the water industry and be familiar with terminology, the water production process, and the role of regulatory bodies.
Programme Structure & Delivery
The programme is classroom-based but ideally delivered on an operational water treatment works. The training covers four modules and is engaging and challenging, making use of mid-module quizzes and end-of-module written tests. The end-of-module tests are multiple-choice format and thoroughly interrogate the learner's understanding of each module's content.
End-of-module tests are open-book, meaning learners can access their own notes during testing. I also deliver an end-of-course final written test, which is closed-book. The questions in the final test are drawn from the end-of-module tests, meaning all questions have been answered previously during the Level 2 training.
Day One: Foundation principles and regulatory framework
Day Two: Treatment processes and operational procedures
Day Three: Quality assurance, testing and final assessment
Customisation Options
The programme content is generic and does not relate to your particular water company by default. However, this can be amended to suit your specific requirements and operational procedures.
Assessment & Reporting
I provide a comprehensive course report for each learner, supported by their scores in the end-of-module tests and the final end-of-course test. The pass mark is set by you, but I recommend a score of 80% as a professional standard.
If a learner fails to achieve the required grade, we will follow a process agreed between ourselves to support their development.
My teaching and assessment model is based on many years of experience in delivering water production competency programmes and reflects best practice in the water industry.
